A Stormwater and Roofwater Catchment Workshop

To All,

Here is an announcement for an important workshop opportunity:

(August ~ A Stormwater and Roofwater Catchment Workshop
Offered: Sunday, August 5, 2012

Time: Begins at 10 am and ends at 1 pm

Instructor: Brock Dolman

Cost: $35 (no meal served)

This 3 hour site tour of our Conservation Hydrology Demonstration Projects is for all those interested in how to prevent erosion problems before they occur, turn stormwater challenges into benefits and how to safely harvest and store high quality water from your roof for potable and/or landscape use. We will demonstrate how to manage water wisely through low impact, practical, small-scale surface-water management techniques for roads, parking lots, and homes. Participants will be introduced to cost-effective techniques for groundwater recharge, sediment control, flood attenuation, wildlife habitat creation, and mitigation of impervious surfaces such as pavement. Finally, we will demonstrate inexpensive and easy to build roof water harvesting systems that provide a self-sufficient source of clean water that is not dependant upon diminishing ground and surface water supplies and provides water for fire protection during the dry season.
